Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday August 21. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On August 18 a probable KAMCHATKA GULL was photographed on Tillamook Bay.
On August 16 a HORNED PUFFIN was off the North Jetty of Yaquina Bay. A
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was reported August 13 in Eugene.

ELEGANT TERNS were reported during the week at Brookings, Coos Bay, and
Yaquina Bay. Shorebird migrations were highly conspicuous during the week.

Up to 28 WHITE PELICANS are now on Sauvie Island. On August 17 a MOCKINGBIRD
was at Powell Butte Park in Gresham. A singing WRENTIT was found August 16
in Minto-Brown Park in Salem. On August 18 a female BOBOLINK was near
Lebanon. A flock of 14 WHIMBRELS was at Fern Ridge Reservoir August 20.

On August 20, 34 Short-billed Dowitchers were at Hatfield Lake near Bend. A
young BLACK PHOEBE was photographed August 17 at Summer Lake.
