Yep, they look like Red Necks to me. Fairly sharp bill, dark eye patch and streaked back.

Located in the first pond out on the marsh trail today at 3:45pm. After
consulting my Audubon book, I've come up with this ID. Is it correct? It
never came out of the water, and spent a great amount of time spinning around
and sticking its head in the water.
