30 August 2008 11 A.M. - near Gibralter Road quarry= Anacortes
1 male Goshawk; in flight, making tight circles at elevation of about 300
-500 feet. Observation time; about 10 minutes. Nelson Briefer
_ebriefer at aol.com_ (mailto:ebriefer at aol.com) Anacortes, WA and Tucson. Insight; If there
are Cooper's Hawks and Sharpies in your area there is a good chance there are
also Northern Goshawks. If there are Red-Tailed Hawks in your area and an
occasional Raven - there is a good probability that Northern Goshawks are in the
same area. Northern Goshawks are not "habitat conscious", they are "prey
conscious". They are habitat conscious during their breeding cycle. Cheers
