Hi Tweets,
My husband and I walked the Spit today out to the lighthouse. What excitement, a pod of Orcas--1 big male with a huge dorsal fin and at least 4 females and juveniles. Here's a list of the birds I was able to spot while keeping up with my fast-walking husband.
Harlequin Duck, Common Loon, Double-crested Cormorant, Pelagic Cormorant, Killdeer, Black Oystercatcher, Greater Yellowlegs, Black Turnstone, Sanderling, Western Sandpiper, Heermann's, CA and Glaucous-winged Gulls and Caspian Tern.

Lots of Harbor Seals out there too. They reminded me of people with just their heads sticking out and big eyes looking our way.
