Hi Tweeters,

On the way home from Seaside, Ore last night on Hwy 101 near the sign for Bush Pioneer County Park there was a Rough-legged Hawk perched in a shrubby tree right next to the road. Not sure how common they are around this area but the habitat looked good for vole hunting. Also a mile or so on the west side of South Bend (on Hwy 101) about 5 Snow Geese flew in and landed in the same area Charlie Wright found Emperor Geese last year. I wasn't driving and I would have stopped to get a better look at the geese. Black wingtips in flight and looked like geese when they landed even with the briefest of looks. A big red pickup truck in front of us pulled over to look at them just as I noticed them myself, perhaps they are on Tweeters and can confirm.

There are still a number of Brown Pelicans in Seaside, Ore., and a few in Astoria.
