Hey tweets,

My family survived our 2.5 week trip to Costa Rica with flying colors -- our
only car accident was when our dumb driver (that's me) backed into a tree at
Hacienda Baru. Dopy me. And while we made no effort to "bird", we still
piled up well over 100 species without even trying. I mean, come on, toucans
out the window of our casita!

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions and encouragement; I'll post a
complete species list and a couple of recommendations in a day or so, but
I'd just like to point out that we stayed 12 days near Ojochal, north of the
Osa Peninsula, and saw Scarlet Macaws nearly every day! We even saw a pair
of them, uh, getting frisky. So it seems that they're expanding northward.
Good news!

Cheers,
