I've had a male Anna's dominating my feeder near downtown Olympia since putting it up in the fall. There's also a female that tries to sneak in for a quick sip once in a while, but gets chased off instantly. However, there was one time recently when a female fed at the feeder without harassment for several minutes right in front of the male. I could see the male watch her, so he knew she was there. I assumed that it was probably a different female and possibly his Mom? Not sure why else he would have allowed it. I also was really surprised to hear how vocal the male is at this time of year.
