I was on the Black Hill Audubon Fieldtrip on Saturday. The year 2004 seems right when Patrick and I followed up from you report seeing all that many Shorebirds close to the Marina.But where we saw all the many birds including Rock Sandpiper was on the Marina where there working and refinishing some of the large birds.We saw the masses of Shorebirds birds on the jetty. This is the end on this stretch and there is also a hiking trail .Driving to the right you end up at Hudson Bay and further to Point Wilson.

On November 7, 2004, Heather and I walked the marina trail and located 109 Black Turnstones, 71 Black-bellied Plovers, 400 Dunlin and 80 Sanderlings on the old pilings and dock. When we walked the trail last month, the old pilings had all been removed.

It will be interesting to see if the turnstones are there in large numbers throughout the winter or if they disperse further and the season progresses.
