Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday December 11. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
at 503-233-3976.

The Peoria PYRRHULOXIA has not been seen since December 8, but may still be
in the area. A female NORTHERN CARDINAL is now coming to a feeder in Central
Point. This is the fifth Oregon sighting this year, and the first female.

TROPICAL KINGBIRDS are still being reported along the southern Oregon Coast.
Record numbers of BROWN PELICANS continue to be seen, including over 200 at
Natarts Bay and 4000 at Boiler Bay December 9. Over 1500 HERRING GULLS were
at Siletz Bay December 9.

On December 7 a GLAUCOUS GULL was at the Chetco River mouth. A male WILSON?S
WARBLER was seen December 6 in Coos Bay. The RUFF continues to be seen along
East Bay Drive in Coos Bay. On December 6 over 40 CINNAMON TEAL were on
Svenson Island east of Astoria.

Over 4000 SNOW GEESE are now in the Sauvie Island/Ridgefield NWR area. A
BRANT is now at the Dawson Creek Corporate Park in Hillsboro. On December 7
a CATTLE EGRET was along Hwy 99W near Monroe. Two SWAMP SPARROWS were found
at Fern Ridge Reservoir at Perkins Peninsula. A HARRIS?S SPARROW was seen
December 5 at Emigrant Lake near Ashland. On December 10 two WHITE-WINGED
SCOTERS were at Hyatt Reservoir east of Ashland.

On December 6 A HARRIS?S SPARROW and over 4000 COOTS were on Wickiup
Reservoir south of Bend.
