Your annual opportunity to learn a little more about those other flying
vertebrates!

Bats Northwest Bat Ambassador Training typically starts with birds as a
point of departure to compare and contrast the two groups.

Bats Northwest uses this as the entry into its volunteer program and after
the training you get some perks like entrance to Pacific Northwest Flower
and Garden Show at the Seattle Convention Center - we have received first
prize for the best educational exhibit for several years now and typically
there is a serious crowd pressing in to find out how to better meet the
needs of their bats in bat houses, landscaping and general conservation
issues.

Other follow-on trainings are also available such as the Bat-Grid training
in June, but since those involve actually handling bats, pre-exposure rabies
inoculations (and a titer check) are needed before going in the field. No
shots are needed for this class or the Garden Show. While we will have live
bats at the training, no one without shots ever handles them.
