Hi Dan.Those leg bands are found on the peregrines banded by Dan Varland
(PhD) for his research of raptors of the Washington coast (I am a volunteer
with his team). The blue band on the right leg is an anodized aluminum Fish
& Wildlife band indicating the bird was banded on the beach between Grayland
on the south and the Copalis River on the north. The green band indicates a
Peale's subspecies, and has white letters and/or numbers visible with a
spotting scope to track the individual bird. Where did you see this bird?

Hello group,



I was recently reviewing video taken last summer and found an adult
Peregrine with a right leg blue band and left leg green band. I could not
see any numbers or letters. What do the colored bands tell us about this
bird?
