I did check my records and I observed it on October 11th. Unless
somebody observes it out of the water and can check for any leg bands,
it is likely an escapee - maybe from the Stanley Park, Vancouver B.C.
flock. - I recall a nesting pair from my Maryland days, seen on the
nest on the east end and in between the two bay bridges during a
bridge walk. Over the years, the Mute Swan has become a nuisance in
the Chesapeake Bay area ans they can be hunted.
