Hiked the dike loop out at the Skagit Game Range this afternoon on Fir Island, Skagit Co., off of Wylie Road. Best bird of the day was an American Tree Sparrow that popped up with some Song Sparrows at about the furthest point from the parking lot on the dike loop trail. This was all the way out, just a hundred yards from where the old dike meets up with the new portion of dike that heads due east back to the headquarters and parking lot. Did not observe great numbers or species of birds on the walk. There was at least 1 Northern Shrike in the area as well.
