An enjoyable day of feeder watching with intermittent bursts of snow -
enough to cover the deck of my Battle Ground, Clark County home. Siskins
started slow but the flock increased throughout the day until there were at
least 115 at any given time on the ground and at both the thistle and
sunflower seed feeders. Their antics were amusing as they seemed to chase
other birds from the feeders (House Finches and Black-capped Chickadees)
just by sheer volume!

Birds seen at the feeders in no particular order:

Chestnut-backed Chickadee 3
House Finch 15
Pine Siskin 115
Evening Grosbeak 10
Dark-eyed Junco 15

Who knows what will happen when the forecasted serious cold weather moves
in........
