Saturday morning a sharpie sat fanning his tail out in the most incredible way we've ever seen just outside the kitchen window! Has anyone else observed this and know why he would be doing this? He was perched on top of the thistle feeders and all the birds 'went missing' for awhile, but after 15-20 minutes of sitting there opening and closing his tail like this, they eventually came out again and resumed their feeding at another feeder about 30 feet away, deciding, apparently, that he was no threat.
