While walking the dog at Marymoor's dog park on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 I saw a pair of Scrub Jays. I first spotted the first bird as I walked north on the treed path which runs down the east side of the slough. My first impression was of a bird similar to a mockingbird in length, tail to beak, very slender. It flew fast, landing in one tree, then taking off for another. I lost it for a while, but it's call helped me locate it again. I carefully stepped cross crountry through the landmines of the dog park going overland to track it. The pair appeared in the trees lining the south edge of the parking lot. The last I saw of them, they were heading east pat the Pea Patch over to the open fields. This was about mid afternoon. I also thought I saw white tail feathers, one on each side. I am away from my field guides-photos available on the internet do not show these. I didn't have my binocs, odd light that day, but I had a sense of blue.
