HI Tweeters,

Another fun day of watching birds feeding on the deck of my home in Battle
Ground, Clark County although computer work got in the way most of the day.
Some of the Pine Siskins left although they were still the most common
species:

Mourning Dove 1
Downy Woodpecker 1
Red-shafted Flicker 1
Black-capped Chickadee 6
Chestnut-backed Chickadee 3
Dark-eyed Junco 20 (including one Slate-colored)
Spotted Towhee 3
Song Sparrow 3
House Sparrow 1
House Finch 20
Pine Siskin 85
Evening Grosbeak 8

Of interest were several raptors:

Red-tailed Hawk 1
Bald Eagle (sub-adult) 1
possible GOLDEN EAGLE 1

The Golden Eagle was seen for about five seconds at 9:30am. I was alerted
by the throngs of Canada/Cackling Geese that were coming from its general
direction. It was obviously an eagle with very long broad wings. I noticed
that it had a white base to the tail although it had no noticeable white
windows in the wings. Unfortunately, it never came very close choosing to
drift south south west behind trees towards (presumably) Ridgefield NWR or
Vancouver Lake. It may be the one that got away. I'm very conservative
with my yard list so it won't be added.

Keep your eyes and ears skyward.
