For the last few years during freezing temperatures, I've been hanging our shop light next to the hummingbird feeder. It usually works well. Even so, with this cold snap, I thaw the partially frozen feeders in the morning. As William said today, they are waiting for me when I come out in the morning. I also understand it is safe for the birds to increase the amount of sugar a little from the usual 1 to 4 ratio.
