Hi Tweeters,

What a beautiful day (if you don't have to drive in it).

Quite a few birds yesterday and today on the deck of my house in
Battle Ground, Clark County:

Mourning Dove 1-1
Downy Woodpecker 1-1
Red-shafted Flicker 1-2
Black-capped Chickadee 4-6
Chestnut-backed Chickadee 3-3
Steller's Jay 2-1
Western Scrub Jay 1-2
Dark-eyed Junco 15-15
Song Sparrow 3-3
Spotted Towhee 3-5
Pine Siskin 12-25
American Goldfinch 0-1
Purple Finch 2-0
House Finch 15-15
Evening Grosbeak 8-6
House Sparrow 2-2

A highlight today were 7 swans (#115) that flew by at the height of
one of the snow squalls. I've only seen swans from the yard once
before, January 7, 2007 - also seen on a snowy day. I, unfortunately,
was unable to figure out species though.

Keep your eyes and ears skyward!

Jim
