Hi All! Gary, I too got my first Fox for the season bright and early this AM. I have had a lone male Robin, eating what is left over on all my crab apples, Hawthornes, and Mountain Ash. I felt rather sorry for him a few days ago, when no one else showed up, but it is to his benefit, as there is very little to glean from all my trees, with Cedar Waxwing's and other Robins cleaning me out earlier. Plus we did get all the non-native Blackberries pulled. Still have some Cotoneaster berries left as well. Later I will need to keep an eye open for the Townsend's Solitaire that shows up later in the winter in my Junipers, (not EVERY year of course) which are growing ever larger, and producing more fruit. Little Miss Varied Thrush obviously was NOT happy with the slim pickings, as she has skipped town after two days. I have a Chestnut Backed Chickadee, who has decided to do all the seed stashing it can, in the cages that surround most of my feeders, so amusing to watch.It has been busy all early afternoon, working on the same feeder, stashing chips into crevices, that has the cage. I see no point, but it seems satisfied with its work, as it has now moved on to stashing bits of suet in corners around the house.Happy Birding to all!Vicki Biltz
