Subject: [Tweeters] Warming hummingbird feeders (again)

So I've finally figured out a way that works for me to keep the hummers fed
during these cold snaps. I have three of those long hourglass-shaped glass
"Perky Pets" feeders with the four flower-like tube openings at the bottom.
Two of these sit outside while the third is inside thawing, then I rotate
once the third one is liquid again.

And to do the thawing, I microwave some water in a large measuring cup till
it's warm but not boiling. Then I invert the frozen feeder so the liquefying
fluid won't ooze out of the tubes, and stick it upside-down into the warm
water until it melts.

Since water has a high heat capacity, I can reuse the same warm water for
the next frozen feeder.

Good luck everyone! And thanks for helping keep these little critters going
through the cold.

Trileigh
