While walking between our house and the Puyallup post office
today, on icy streets waiting for the "big storm", Clarice and I
had several nice birds:

Red breasted sapsucker, multiple Anna's, ten or twelve snipe,
hooded mergansers, and most interesting was a
Canada/greater white front hybrid in a flock of large subspecies
Canada geese grazing in a wet pasture near our house and
the Meeker Ditch. Very closely resembled the drawing on page
77 of Sibley's Guide (the big guide before it was split into east
and west), although our bird had more white at the base of the
bill and the bill black, like a normal Canada. Same thin white
line showing along bottom of wing, as per a white front.
