>From one yesterday to three today, joining about 35 Robins in stripping my 35' Madrona of it's berries. The three thrush then adjourned to a Mahonia and proceeded to feast upon it's berries as well. On the subject of freezing feeders, we have a two tiered water fountain in the back that takes about five gallons of water. I bought a bird bath deicer from WBU, 150W made by Farm Innovators, Inc. $49.99 and despite the ad to keep only a 6" circle of water ice free, this little thing has kept the entire fountain ice free and pump pumping through ther last two nights of single digit temperatures here in Newcastle.
