We had a solitary, but gorgeous, red-breasted sapsucker in our yard
yesterday, pecking industriously at a large pine tree. Today (Saturday)
there were TWO! Lovely birds.

And around 1:45 this afternoon, my wife and I saw a lovely V of about 40
snow geese fly over. The two birds bumped my year yard list up to 41; not
extraordinary, but I'm happy with it! Now if only one of those varied
thrushes would wander by...
