We "car" birded all day in western Spokane Co & eastern Lincoln Co driving
over 100 miles all on back roads.

The nearby Spokane Airport was officially minus 18. While birding the car
thermometer varied from minus 1 to minus 22.

Lincoln Co has less snow than Spokane's 2 feet.



We found 18 COMMON REDPOLLS just barely in Spokane Co on Hallett Road, off
Waukon Rd (NW of West Medical Lake).

They were just in weeds in what might have been a wheat field.

In Davenport we found about 100 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS on 11th street.

We talked to a lady that described a possible adult NORTHERN GOSHAWK near
the Davenport School, but we couldn't relocate. We also did not see Snowy
Owl, Gyrfalcon or Snow Buntings as others have.

Red-tail and Rough-legged Hawks have almost all left since the storms.

We saw 1 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE north of Davenport, about 10 Robins total & a
couple hundred Horned Larks.



The Spokane CBC is Sunday Dec 28.
