A friend is feeding Anna's at a town house complex where there are three
other condo residents also feeding. Several Anna's are in the vicinity.

They are using a ratio of 60/40. That's 60 parts sugar to 40 parts
water. When I questioned this strong mix he referred me to the book "A
Guide to feeding winter birds in British Columbia" by Bob Waldon. The
foreword is by R Wayne Campbell, the noted Victoria bird authority.

Every time this subject comes up, someone always says that strong sugar
solutions damage the bird's organs. I have never seen any written
evidence to this effect nor been aware of any such studies carried
out. It seems its someones opinion that gets often repeated until it
becomes fact.
So what is the correct sugar mix answer for Anna's in the
Vancouver/Victoria/Seattle area?
