I was amazed to see an Annas Hummingbird awake and sitting at our feeder at 10:30 pm last night
in the midst of our wind and snow event. I was shocked to see it up at such a late hour and at the more
exposed feeder yet. It fed for a bit and then went into a beak high wings slighty
spread nap and then fed again after five minutes. I went to warm up the feeder and I was able to
get very close before it saw me and flew to a nearby tree. This morning I have two of my usual hummers
fighting over the feeders, while the third one that was around hasn't shown up yet.

If anyone wants a photo of the hummer, give me a URL I can post it to for the group...

It would be interesting to see if anyone notices hummingbird mortality with this very severe
and long spell of snow and cold. If the Annas survive this, they can survive anything
Western Washington can throw at them in a usual winter.
