Friends of mine in south Seattle found two hummers in a potted plant on a neighbors porch that had undoubtedly starved to death. They were not in
torpor--they never woke up. I've seen Anna's make it through cold weather before, but this is an extended cold spell. Tameness, feeding at 10:30 p.m.--I think they're desperate.
