Just a late post that I, too, watched a Red-breasted Sapsucker
tapping a well in a large, non-native conifer down the street last
Sunday afternoon while I was walking the neighbor's dog here at 440
feet above sea level. Struggling with getting to work on unplowed
roads and ill-equipped buses made me forget to post this sighting
when everyone else was posting theirs.
