Hello, tweets.

Thank to those of you who responded to my query about road
conditions, both online and off. Sounds as if roads vary from
reasonably good to rather treacherous, but that side roads and hilly
areas are probably still to be avoided (I knew I should have bought a
Hummer). As it turns out, my friends from California aren't that
enthusiastic about going out in these conditions, so we'll probably
just get together and talk about birds and sunny tropical places we
have visited. As I look at the 10-day weather forecast yet again, I'm
beginning to think that the Pacific Northwest will be the one region
left unaffected by global warming.
