Tina and I spent the day 'gulling' around Everett. Tina re-located the
beautiful adult SLATY-BACKED GULL originally reported by Scott Atkins on
26-DEC-08. The gull was on the ice at the south end of the oxidation lagoon
at the Everett Sewage Treatment Plant. Almost simultaneously, I re-located
the 2nd year GLAUCOUS GULL that Tina and I originally reported on 30-NOV-08.
This gull was on the west bank of the aeration pond. Both were viewed from
the Spencer Island parking lot.



All total we had a 10 gull day. In addition to the usual large number of
MEW GULLs, and GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLs at the Everett STP, we also had a
CALIFORNIA GULL. We found RING-BILLED GULLs, an AMERICAN HERRING GULL, and
a THAYER'S GULL off 12th Street NE just north of the Everett STP. At the
Everett Harbor, we added BONAPARTE'S GULLs, and a couple of WESTERN GULLs.



Our other rare sighting was of a small stretch of bare, dry road:-)



It was a very good day!
