Hello All,
This afternoon on our return from the quarterly visit to REI. We stopped and
counted the Bald Eagles that congregate on the annual winter communal roost
site along the Columbia River in western Walla Walla Co.. MerryLynn counted
54 Bald Eagles at roost about 3:56PM. This is the largest number to date we
have ever seen at this roost site. There were 11 adult birds and 43
sub-adult birds on site. They are feeding on the estimated 40,000 waterfowl
in the area. Mostly mallards, American Wigeon and American Coots.
