Hello everybody, I am a fledgling bird watcher who has been going out to the Skagit & Samish flats every year to see the wintering hawks. This year I am bringing a group of my friends out there to go bird watching and I was wondering if any of you knew of some good bird watching locations? In the past I have always been a passenger and I paid more attention to the trees outside the car than the streetsigns... I do have one map with a few good locations marked but it is actually a trail map so finding the street names is really difficult.

If anybody has a recommended route or specific recommended locations to stop at I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Also, are there any places that will rent a spotting scope? They have been really helpful on trips in the past but they are way out of my price range...
