My husband and I have birded in Copan and found it difficult to find a guide
who spoke English adequately. Luckily we speak Spanish and had a bird book
on the area so this made our trip more interesting. I advise you to make
sure your guide speaks English fairly well as the translation re: specific
birds was difficult even for us. We did a lot of pointing to birds in our
bird book. Copan is an interesting place, however, and you will enjoy the
ruins. I lived in Guatemala for a year; you will love Antigua.
