Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Wednesday December 31. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The Peoria PYRRHULOXIA continues to be seen. The LITTLE BLUE HERON at Siletz
Bay is regularly being reported in the Drift Creek Area. On December 26 a
BROWN THRASHER was seen along Quarry Avenue in Silverton. Although secretive
it is still being seen. On December 24 an immature male ROSE-BREASTED
GROSBEAK began coming to a feeder in Brookings.

BROWN PELICANS continue in good numbers along the coast. GLAUCOUS GULLS were
reported during the week from North Portland, Sheridan, and Eugene. Large
flocks of PINE SISKINS are being reported from many areas, including
neighborhood feeders.

The Shillapoo Wildlife Area SWAINSON?S HAWK continues to be seen. On
December 28 a CASSIN?S VIREO was reported from nearby Ridgefield NWR. A
REDPOLL was seen December 25 in a northeast Portland neighborhood. On
December 30 a male CASSIN?S FINCH was near Mt. Tabor in Portland. A CHIPPING
SPARROW is now coming to a feeder in northeast Portland. On December 30 a
SNOWY OWL was reported two miles north of Cornelius.

On December 28 about 12 SHORT-EARED OWLS and 12 NORTHERN HARRIERS were seen
going to an evening roost site in the Finley NWR Prairie Area. On December
26 an EMPEROR GOOSE and a CINNAMON TEAL were near Brownsville. Three
BARROW?S GOLDENEYE were on the pond at the Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene
December 29.
