Hi, Tweets

As usual, I'm far behind on things, but wanted to send this
end-of-the year report to give credit to the hardy birds hanging
around and for those that reported them. Reports are always
appreciated very much. Following are reports from Washington and
Oregon for November and December 2008:

NOVEMBER
04 -- 5 at Martin Way/I-5
05 -- 28 at the George Adams Salmon Hatchery
11 -- 1 circling high and drifting southeast of Stanwood
15 -- 1 near the Fir Island game headquarters
22 -- 1 in hunting mode east of Ellensburg
29 -- a kettle of 6 over Eugene, Oregon

DECEMBER
15 -- 3-7 along Westlake near Lake Union; one in Cle Elum (waiting to
be counted on the CBC)
17 -- 1 near Grants Pass, Oregon
22 -- 2 near Vale, Oregon

Haven't heard whether any are overwintering on Vancouver Island. If
any other winter vultures are seen, please let me know - February is
the month they start returning!!

Happy New Year to all and thanks for all the 2008 sightings.

Cheers, Diann
