Hello all,

I am trying to add to my bird recording project. One of my goals is to
record birds alarming at the approach of a Cooper's or sharp-shinned hawk.
I wasn't quick enough with the microphone when I heard a huge flock of
siskins fall completely silent as a Cooper's flew over. If anyone can point
me to where an Accipiter is lurking, and it's a spot I can linger for a few
hours with a microphone, please let me know! Feel free to call me as
well-have microphone, will travel, and on most days I am quite able to drop
everything and zip anywhere on the greater Eastside for a good bird sound.
In fact, if there are any places with intriguing bird or other natural
noises, I'd love to record those too! There will be little time left to
record before spring singing gets underway; the Indian-plum buds at my house
in Woodinville are breaking open already.

Wishing everyone not just good bird sightings, but soundings as well,

Alexia Stevens
