Hi all,

On Sat while surveying seabirds for Seattle Audubon's
Puget Sound Seabird Survey at Brace Point (south of
the Fautleroy Ferry dock), Becky & I got some great
looks of the usual suspects on the very calm water:
Bufflehead, Common Goldeneye, Horned Grebe, Red-necked
grebe, Red-breasted Merganser, etc.

The highlight was a COMMON LOON eating a skate. Took
it a while, but somehow it managed to choke down the
wide prey. Hadn't realized those were fair game for a
loon!
