At about 3:25 PM I observed a group of ~16 swans in a farm field
outside of Puyallup. They were in a location very close to where I had
seen a smaller group of swans about a year ago. They were too distant to
identify any field marks, but among the group were at least 2 juveniles.
I first spotted them from 52nd St. E near Chief Leschi School north of
the road. I wanted a closer view, so I turned left onto Pioneer, left
onto Stewart Av. E, and the left on W Stewart Av. W Stewart turns into
66th. At the sign for 59th St. E (Private Road) I pulled over and
spotted the swans to the west near the railroad tracks. I tried to find
a closer view of the swans, but they had positioned themselves well,
deep in private property, obscured from Pioneer by the elevated railroad
bed. I drove back to 52nd and viewed them from between Picha's Berry
stand and Sterino Farms. This view was even farther. Link to map below.
