I am envisioning a world in which peregrines have solved the "starling
problem" and the "pigeon problem" and become, themselves, urban
"vermin?" 8-)> Just imagine the campaigns to Save the Pigeons! There
was an interesting novel called _Peregrine_ published 10-15 years ago
in which peregrines trained to attack people carried out assassinations
from the Chrysler Building. Can we hope for enough urban peregrines
that they might go to work on the "human problem?" Even native Pacific
Northwesterners would start carrying umbrellas.
