Hi Tweeters,
I am going to a wedding in Kalispell Montana next week. I will have a few days available to do some birding. I am taking Amtrak to Whitefish, staying in Kalispell and the Wedding will be in Big Fork.
Are any of you familiar with birding in that area. I have been monitoring the MOB (Montana Outdoor Birding) web site. I've come up with quite a list of potential Life birds. MOB is nowhere as big as tweeters. it covers the whole state of Montana and only has 257 members not many of them live in the area I will be. That's why I'm also asking Tweeters for help.
Here's my (probably very unrealistic) target list
Golden Eagle
Prairie Falcon
Gyrfalcon
Gray Partridge
sharp-tailed Grouse
Spruce Grouse
Wild Turkey
Eurasian Collared Dove
Great Horned Owl
Great Gray Owl
Three-Toed Woodpecker
Black-backed Woodpecker
Blue Jay
Gray Jay
Clark's Nutcracker
Black-billed Magpie
Horned Lark
Mountain Chickadee
White-breasted Nuthatch
Pygmy Nuthatch
Townsend's Solitaire
Bohemian Waxwing
American Tree Sparrow
Harris's Sparrow
Snow Bunting
Gray-crowned Rosy -finch
Red Crossbill
Evening Grosbeak
Pine Grosbeak
I hope to at least see Bohemian Waxwings, since I refrained from looking for the one at Magnuson, knowing that I would soon be going to Montana.
I'd appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks in advance.
