With just over 9 and a half hours of light, I heard my first extended winter
wren song from our woods today. Even though its been a rainy and rather
dreary day I have been in this great mood, which I think is my subconscious
response to the beginnings of spring in the Puget Lowlands. There were tiny
mouse ears of nettles poking out of the park today, and the Salmonberry buds
are well developed. So even though it might look winterish outside, nature
knows.....
