Rare Bird Alert for a SLATY-BACKED GULL and out of town, for an
ICELAND GULL


Sightings for Wednesday, February 6th:

A TOWNSEND'S WARBLER is coming to a feeder on Spuraway Avenue in Port
Coquitlam.

The immature NORTHERN GOSHAWK continues to be seen daily near the ponds at
Jericho Park in Vancouver.



Sightings for Tuesday, February 5th:

An adult ICELAND GULL was at the Sardis Pond in Chilliwack. It has
been seen here daily since the 2nd of February


Sightings for Monday, February 4th:

The immature RUSTY BLACKBIRD continues at the pond at Ambleside Park in
West Vancouver.

At Manning Provincial Park, about 200 km E of Vancouver, large flocks of
finches were seen on the road to the Gibson Pass Ski Area, including 50 RED
CROSSBILLS, 120 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS, 30 PINE GROSBEAKS, and 150
GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCHES. More finches, including 200 RED CROSSBILLS and
10 PINE GROSBEAKS, were seen along Highway 3 near the Manning Park Lodge.


No sightings reported for Sunday, February 3rd


Sightings for Saturday, February 2nd:

The immature RUSTY BLACKBIRD continues at the pond at Ambleside Park in
West Vancouver.

2 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were found in a small flock of RED
CROSSBILLS at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver

The immature NORTHERN GOSHAWK continues at Jericho Park, Vancouver.


Sightings for Friday, February 1st:

The immature RUSTY BLACKBIRD continues at the pond at Ambleside Park in
West Vancouver

At St John's College at UBC, the NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was again
present.

In Delta, on Boundary Bay at the foot of 72nd Ave 1 AMERICAN TREE SPARROW
and
1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER were present


Sightings for Thursday, January 31st:

In Delta, a 3rd winter SLATY-BACKED GULL was present in a
gull roost along Ladner Trunk Road between 72nd St and 88th St at
12:30 PM. Nearby, the gray-phased GYRFALCON was located along
Hornby Drive between 96th St and 104th St.

In Surrey, the HARRIS'S SPARROW was again present between 188th St
and 8th Ave. Nearby, 1 AMERICAN KESTREL was located.


Sightings for Wednesday, January 30th:

At St John's College at UBC, the NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was again present.

In Delta, 2 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS were seen in blackberry bushes at 3865
72nd St.


Sightings for Tuesday, January 29th:

At Ambleside Park in West Vancouver, the RUSTY BLACKBIRD was present in a
birch tree near the kiosk as you enter from the parking lot.


Sightings for Monday, January 28th:

At Ambleside Park in West Vancouver, a RUSTY BLACKBIRD was present in the
vicinity of the duck pond.

In Delta, the PRAIRIE FALCON was again present and 1 AMERICAN TREE SPARROW
was seen east of the foot of 72nd St.

At Farm Slough near Blackie Spit in Surrey, 1 LONG-BILLED CURLEW and 4
MARBLED GODWITS were located.

At 160th St and 48th Ave in Surrey, 7 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and 1
AMERICAN BLACK DUCK x MALLARD hybrid were seen.
