Thanks for the report John. Three of us did see the Harris's Sparrow this morning about 10 AM. We parked near the bridge a bit east, maybe 1/2 mile, of W. Snoqualmie Rd (this "bridge" is completely overgrown and can't be seen until you walk down the banks of the small slough). We walked down the west bank of the slough, and about 200 yards down came to a small flock of Zonotrichia. They were initially hanging around the vines and stuff around the base of a medium height deciduous tree on the east bank. They came down and foraged for a bit on out side and in the fields - really difficult to see there. They flushed a couple of times, but came back fairly quickly. the last time they flushed they eventually wound up back around the base of the tree. Mostly White-crowns and Golden-crowns. Finally, the Harris's popped up, moved around in the branches (concealed mostly a good part of the time), and then came right out in the open. Probably took us about 20 minutes of watching the flock to finally see the bird.

Hope you get to see it.

Subject: [Tweeters] TURKEY VULTURE - Snoqualmie Valley

Hi Everyone,

Around noon today, I saw my first-of-the-year TURKEY VULTURE in the Snoqualmie Valley soaring over Pepper's Pond near the intersection of Novelty Hill Road and West Snoqualmie Valley Road. Additionally, the flock of swans on NE 32nd, south of Carnation (the side road to Remlinger Farms) included at least one TUNDRA SWAN today among many Trumpeters. The Harris's Sparrow on 100th continued to elude me and for the first time this winter the very large wintering flock of several species of geese at Carnation Farm was not within sight of the roads when I passed by.
