I had another nice day birding Skagit today. The adult RED-SHOULDERED
HAWK that Bob Sundstrom posted about yesterday near the west end of
Valley Road near La Conner was still there perched on a telephone
pole.

While walking out in the fields at the West 90 I had a flock of 17
LAPLAND LONGSPURS fly over. Despite seeing approximately where they
landed it took half an hour to find them on the ground, though the
effort paid off with very close prolonged views of the entire flock.

Other highlights from the day:
Eurasian Wigeon - 25+ around Edison
Long-tailed Duck - 25+ close in at Samish Island from Wharf Road, vocalizing
Bald Eagle - 90+
Peregrine Falcon - 2 on Samish Flats
Thayer's Gull - 2, at Sullivan Road & S of Bayview
Western Gull - 1 at Samish Island
Short-eared Owl - 5+ at West 90
Savannah Sparrow - 10 at West 90
