If you're on the NAS/Cornell Great Backyard Bird Count mailing list, you
probably got this message and have maybe played the interactive game.

The Audubon/Cornell intro reads: "Welcome to Eagle Eyes, the game where you
can test your skills of observation. There are five pairs of photos. Each
pair has five small differences between them - it's your goal to spot them.
Simply click on either photo in the pair where you see a difference and a
green circle will appear. Keep trying to find all five before the next pair of
photos loads. You can choose how many seconds you have to find them, or
reduce your stress and play the game with no time limit!"

I would be curious to hear how others do in this little fun exercise.

For me, first thought, "Ah, this should be fun and EASY". After all, I've
been birding for nearly 60 years! And the job description in my resume and
what I actually do includes the words "Senior Observer" (as in birds, marine
mammals, and such, which implies MUCH experience). HA!!!, not enough I guess!

First, I figured, give each set of photos 20 seconds. After five sets, I
ended up rating as a "nestling". Kind of failure you might say
(understatement). Next, I tried again, this time with "no time limit" although I set myself
to 5 MINUTES for each pair and gave up when I hadn't found everything in
that time. Result, better, but I only advanced to only the next level,
"fledgling," and never did find all five in any of the photo pairs but did manage to
get 4 out of 5 on three sets.

Try your skill and see if you can do better. It's tricky, so watch out
....literally!
