Just a fun little "owl" encounter this evening.

My hubby just returned from taking the dog out for her last potty walk for the evening. After coming down the flight of stairs to our back parking area, a large brown owl "screeched" at them both and flew off. Then, while the dog was looking for that oh-so-perfect-spot, the same owl "screeched" again while flying over an open area of many logs between the grass and the beach - an area known for rats.

It flew by them once more with a "screech" on it's quest for snacks/dinner. Of course, we don't know what type of owl it was, but it was a first for either of us since moving here last May. Maybe I'll get lucky enough to get "screeched" at myself one of these evenings! We have been so used to accidentally scaring the Killdeer in the lawn and hearing the Wigeons on the beach all year, that anything else is noteworthy to us!
