Hi all,

Since I get tweeters on digest and don't know what's been said since noon today, I really should refrain from posting on things like this, but I can't resist venturing my two cents in thinking the bird in the Eagle's talons

is a Common Merganser, with Red-breasted M. my second choice and male Common Goldeneye my third. I think the big white area that you see are the scapulars which would make it a duck with white scapulars, and I think the bird is too big to be any Grebe.

Eagles were sure working the duck flock hard last time we were in Union Bay.
