Spent a couple of hours this morning at MacDonald Park in Carnation
which turned out to be quite birdy in the area uphill from the
footbridge. After dodging the dirt bikers going up and down the trail
behind the yurts, saw not another soul on the regular trails.

Highlights included:
A Red-breasted Sapsucker along the hillside trail and a Pileated
Woodpecker on the cottonwoods by the river.
Dozens of Golden-crowned Kinglets only a few feet off the ground, near
the yurts.
Several hundred Pine Siskins flocked over the treetops, with a chatter
so intense it sounded like the wind.
Three small flocks (4-15 each) of Trumpeter Swans heading north over the
fields east of the river.
A Barred Owl vocalized for about 2 minutes, at noon, from the woods at
the north end of the park.
