Among the denizens of the Union Bay Recovery Area (aka Montlake Fill,
etc.) late this afternoon were two western meadowlarks in non-breeding
plumage. They were in the grass and then a tree just east of the "big
pond," which had a lot of wigeons, gadwall, shovelers and mallards on it.
